How do you announce a new basketball partnership in Dubai? Well, by heading 303 metres into the sky, throwing down a spectacular dunk and lighting up the skyline with 600 drones, obviously!
Dubai Basketball and Red Bull have joined forces for the 2026/27 season, with the energy drink giant becoming the club's Official Energy Drink Partner.
And rather than settling for a traditional sponsorship announcement, the two brands decided to celebrate the moment with an iconic stunt high above Downtown Dubai.
Dubai Basketball stars Dzanan Musa and Justin Anderson took to the helipad of the Mandarin Oriental Downtown Hotel at Al Wasl Tower, where they pulled off what the club describes as "the world's highest-altitude basketball dunk".

With Dubai's skyline providing a pretty incredible backdrop, Musa delivered an alley-oop pass for Anderson to finish at the rim, some 303 metres above the city streets.
The stunt was captured in dramatic aerial footage as the sun set over the Emirate, before 600 illuminated drones took to the night sky to form the Red Bull and Dubai Basketball logos.
Not a bad way to announce a partnership!

But beyond the spectacular launch, the collaboration has ambitions that stretch well beyond the basketball court.
Red Bull will support Dubai Basketball's efforts to grow the sport across the city, including plans to create dedicated spaces where local communities can play, connect and get involved.
The two brands will also work together on fan experiences, digital content and interactive initiatives throughout the season, giving supporters new opportunities to engage with the team.
"Red Bull and Dubai Basketball share a belief in pushing boundaries and creating experiences that people remember," said Dubai Basketball President Dejan Kamenjašević.

"This partnership gives us the opportunity to bring that energy directly to our fans and the wider community, creating new ways for people to experience basketball and be part of what we are building in Dubai."
The announcement comes as Dubai Basketball continues its rapid rise on the international sporting stage.
Now in its third season, the club competes in both the EuroLeague and ABA League, bringing some of Europe's biggest basketball names to Dubai while developing a growing following of its own.

With Red Bull now on board, supporters can expect the brand to feature across matchdays, training environments and a range of new content collaborations.
And if the launch is anything to go by, there could be some pretty entertaining things to come.
For now, though, it's hard to imagine many sponsorship announcements topping a slam dunk high above Dubai!
