The lights have gone green on an extraordinary month of motorsport in the UAE this week, with six international championships set to reach their season finales across Dubai and Abu Dhabi – with fans able to get a front-row seat to the action for free this weekend.

Between November 5 and December 6, the Emirates is hosting three major international motorsport events, bringing together some of the world's best drivers and riders for a month of championship-deciding action.

From the dunes of Al Qudra to the famous Yas Marina Circuit, the action spans everything from desert rallying and motorcycles to Formula 1, further cementing the UAE's position as one of the world's leading motorsport destinations.

The action got underway this week with the Dubai International Baja, which is bringing the excitement of international desert racing into the heart of the city.

Desert racing comes to Mushrif Park

For the first time, Dubai's popular Mushrif Park is hosting the Dubai International Baja Prologue on Friday, November 6, giving residents and visitors the chance to watch international rally cars, motorcycles and quads competing at close range.

Better still, entry is completely free.

Spectators can catch the action across two sessions, from 10am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 4.30pm, before the competitors head into the Al Qudra desert for the main stages on Saturday and Sunday.

The new location is part of a wider effort by Dubai Municipality and the Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO) to make international motorsport more accessible to the city's communities.

Rather than requiring fans to venture deep into the desert, the Prologue brings the sights, sounds and spectacle of rally raid racing to one of Dubai's best-known outdoor destinations.

The excitement continues on Friday evening at Festival Bay, Dubai Festival City Mall, where fans can attend the free Ceremonial Start from 8pm, with the official proceedings beginning at 8.30pm.

It offers another opportunity to get close to the vehicles, teams and competitors before the serious desert racing begins.

World titles on the line in Dubai

Taking place from November 5–8, the Dubai International Baja marks the tenth anniversary of the event in its current format.

This year's edition carries particular significance, with the final rounds of both the FIA World Baja Cup and FIA Middle East Baja Cup taking place in Dubai, alongside the penultimate round of the FIM Bajas World Cup.

The event sees international competitors battle across challenging desert terrain, with speed, endurance and navigation all playing a crucial role in deciding the winners.

Following Friday's Prologue and Ceremonial Start, the main competition moves to Al Qudra for two days of desert racing, before the event concludes on Sunday, November 8.

Abu Dhabi takes over before Formula 1's grand finale

Once the dust settles in Dubai, attention turns to Abu Dhabi for the 35th Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge from November 22–27.

The event will host the final rounds of the FIA and FIM World Rally-Raid Championships, with the world's leading rally raid competitors tackling some of the region's most demanding desert terrain.

Then comes the grand finale.

From December 4–6, the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix returns to Yas Marina Circuit, bringing the 2026 Formula 1 and Formula 2 seasons to a close.

The race weekend will round off an extraordinary 31-day stretch in which six international championships stage their season finales on UAE soil.

For the country's motorsport authorities, the significance extends beyond the trophies.

The concentration of events will bring international teams, manufacturers, officials, media and fans to the Emirates, while providing opportunities for local competitors, volunteers and aspiring motorsport professionals to gain experience at the highest level.

A huge month for UAE motorsport fans

With three major events, six championship finales and some of the biggest names in international motorsport heading to the Emirates, the next month promises plenty of action.

But perhaps the most exciting aspect is how accessible the opening weekend will be.

Whether you're a die-hard motorsport fan or simply looking for something different to experience, the Dubai International Baja offers a rare opportunity to see world-class desert racing without leaving the city.
