Three players share the lead at the halfway stage of the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, but a resurgent Rory McIlroy is breathing down their necks after a superb second round at Yas Links.
Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and Francesco Laporta will head into the weekend tied at 12-under-par after an eventful Friday in the UAE capital, with McIlroy just one shot behind following a brilliant round of 63.
Laporta had stolen the show on Thursday with an opening 62, but the Italian couldn't quite maintain that blistering pace, signing for a second-round 70 to leave the door open for some of golf's biggest names.
And they didn't need asking twice.
Ryder Cup teammates and close friends Rahm and Hatton both made their moves, with Hatton firing a seven-under 65 and Rahm carding a 67 to join Laporta at the summit.
The pair are now chasing a record sixth Rolex Series victory, but with a packed leaderboard and two rounds remaining, there's plenty of work still to do.
Rahm, making his Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship debut, was full of praise for the conditions at Yas Links.
"It's going to be hard to ever find a golf course in better shape than this one," said the Spaniard.
"It's phenomenal what they've been able to do. The greens are all perfect."
He added that the relatively calm conditions have allowed the world's best players to attack the course, setting up what could be a thrilling weekend.

McIlroy finds his putting touch at the perfect time
While the leading trio grabbed the headlines, McIlroy arguably produced the performance of the day.
The Northern Irishman fired a nine-under 63 to move to 11-under-par, joining Poland's Adrian Meronk and English duo Sam Bairstow and Matt Jordan just one shot off the lead.
And perhaps more encouragingly for McIlroy, his putter finally appears to be cooperating.
"I did everything well again," he said. "I drove the ball well. I hit my irons well. I putted a little bit better. I saw a few more putts go in, which is something that I haven't been seeing for the last couple of months."
McIlroy revealed that work with putting coach Brad Faxon last week appears to be paying off after frustrating performances on the greens at Wentworth and in India.
"I definitely saw some encouraging signs on the greens today," he added.
The timing could hardly be better.
McIlroy is chasing a record-equalling eighth Race to Dubai title, and with current rankings leader Eugenio Chacarra sitting back at three-under-par, the Northern Irishman has a golden opportunity to strengthen his position heading into next week's season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
He is also chasing a fifth Rolex Series victory, which would bring him level with Rahm and Hatton.
More than just golf at Yas Links
Away from the leaderboard, the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship is embracing the UAE's Year of the Family with a packed programme of entertainment across the weekend.
Saturday and Sunday have been designated Family Weekend, with children aged 17 and under enjoying free entry throughout the tournament.
The Championship Village features interactive golf challenges, big screens, live entertainment and activities for younger visitors, including the Future Falcons Kids' Zone, free golf lessons and trick-shot shows.
For those unable to make it to Yas Links, the action is also available to stream across the Middle East through Recast, with individual rounds and a four-day Championship Pass available.
With three players tied at the top, McIlroy closing fast and the Race to Dubai title battle gathering momentum, Abu Dhabi is perfectly set up for a blockbuster weekend of golf.
